Zamia furfuracea, commonly known as the Cardboard Palm, is a unique, slow-growing cycad native to Mexico. Despite its name, it’s not a true palm—but its palm-like look, tough textured leaves, and compact size make it a favorite for tropical-style gardens and modern interiors.

 

☀️ Light

  • Prefers bright light or full sun (outdoors or sunny windows)

  • Can adapt to partial shade, but growth may slow

  • Indoors: place in a bright spot, like near a south-facing window

💧 Watering

  • Let soil dry out completely between waterings

  • Water thoroughly, then drain off excess

  • Very sensitive to overwatering – root rot is a common issue

  • Loves warm temperatures: 20–32°C (68–90°F)
