Paphiopedilum femma or commonly called as slipper orchid is mostly terrestrial orchids where they grow in the ground. It is a warm growing orchid and does not produce pseudobulbs at the base of their stems. The common name “slipper orchid” comes from the flower’s lip being slipper-shaped.

Paphiopedilum American hybrid is native to tropical and subtropical Asia. Slipper orchid get their name from the pouch-shaped labellum, that traps its pollinators in search of nectar.
