Thaumatococcus daniellii is a tropical perennial plant with large, glossy, dark green leaves. The leaves are elongated and can be up to 12 inches (30 cm) long and 6 inches (15 cm) wide. The plant produces distinctive, small, greenish-white flowers that are often hidden among the foliage. The fruit, known as the "magic fruit," is a cluster of small, spherical berries that turn dark purple when ripe. It can be propagated through division of the root clumps or by seeds. The plant produces offsets that can be separated and planted to grow new specimens.
